Supporting Families in Nepal

Updated: Oct 23, 2023

Our Sansar, the nonprofit organization, is witnessing that while most parents wish to continue their employment in the factories, they have also received requests from several families seeking support in income generation activities. Sansar has responded by providing a sewing machine to one tailor, enabling income generation, and equipping another lady with tools to establish a portable umbrella and shoe repair shop. Presently, Sansar is collaborating with these families to establish cooperatives and initiate dairy and agriculture ventures.

Sansar remains committed to closely monitoring the progress of these initiatives. Should these efforts prove to be sustainable income sources for the families involved, Sansar will explore extending similar support to other families in need. The organization is also actively offering skills training to enhance employability across various sectors, broadening the range of opportunities available to beneficiaries.

In an initial consideration of legal action against factory owners, Sansar has redirected its focus towards fostering cooperation through the Child Labor Free Campaign, encouraging factory owners to discontinue the use of child labor.

The critical need for support extends to all children who are victims of child labor, exploitation, abuse, and trafficking. Sansar's overarching objective is to replicate this project in neighboring villages where the demand for such assistance is equally pressing.
